One of the basic faith messages that needs to be repeated is that of the bruised reed and smoking flax that God will not break or quench. There are many examples in the Bible of nearly broken people to show how there is always someone that we can identify with no matter what we are going through. The bruised reed / smoking flax condition is terrible, but it is also terribly necessary for our growth. That God takes us from victory to the lowest lows and brings us through speaks to God’s care for us.
