Peter instructs the saints in obedience of the truth, through which we purify our souls. The expression of this obedience is love for the brethren that is not hypocritical. The possibility to love one another exists yet today and is planted in us as we abide in Christ. The fruit of the Spirit that He cherishes comes naturally when God dwells in us, as we love one another.
