There are many questions we can ask about heaven, death, dying and eternity, including, "Why does the earth need to be redeemed?" The earth matters to God; the ground and everything on it was cursed with the fall, and that curse must be lifted before we can reside on it in our blessed state of being risen with Christ. What will we know in heaven? Will we know everything? Will heaven be on earth? Is Eden of Genesis a shadow of a reality to come? Will we be equal in heaven? Why am I here? Why did my life unfold like this? Will we actually rule in heaven? How will we worship? Can my loved ones, the ones that have passed away, see me? And will I be reunited with them? Will I recognize them? Will you see your loved ones again? What about my marriage, my friends, or my family? What type of clothes will we wear in heaven? Will we have bodies? If so, what will they look like? What about our pets? What is the new Jerusalem? Will heaven be boring? What exactly does “eternity” mean? What will we eat and drink in heaven? Will we know each other? Will we work, play, and/or rest? Can you believe the Bible? What does the Bible say about you, your future, your destiny? Will we maintain our identities, our gender? Will we know each other? Will we recognize each other? Are you serious, everything’s recorded about everything I’ve done? Why does the earth need to be redeemed? Can you imagine if there was no more sea? Will we be ourselves?
