John's prophetic visions of the new heaven, new earth and new Jerusalem tell us a lot about what things will be like, and they are backed up by Old Testament references. God will be present in our midst, and there will be no more need for shadows and types because we will have the true Substance with us. He will put things back in the order that He intended in the beginning, and there will be complete shalom over the earth. If we stay by the stuff and keep overcoming by faith, we will ultimately dwell in the land of the redeemed.
