Judges 6-7 Gideon: Courage and Strength that Comes from God

We are under constant attack because of our stand for Christ. Courage, seated in the living God, comes from some certain knowledge of what God has promised. In light of the event of a Molotov cocktail thrown at this building late in the week, we look to Gideon as a type; going from confusion about God's presence and power in a circumstance of persecution, poverty and powerlessness; growing in courage in the commission and calling, with its embedded promise: the Lord is with thee. Private faithfulness is a prerequisite to public service and leadership.
