Moving into the New Testament, we learn that we cannot apply a singular definition to holiness and sanctification. In Jesus' high priestly prayer, we see that sanctification is not something we endeavor to do, but rather a passive act on our part; something that is initiated by God to conform us to the image and likeness of Christ as we are faithing in Him.
