Why Did Jesus Appear to Mary?

People that make negative comments about women speaking in the church are ignorant. After the resurrection, Jesus first appeared to Mary, not to Peter or one of the other disciples. Those in the upper room (women included) were endued with power from above, which was preparation for service. History records many women being used by God, which is His sovereign right.
